Brief History of Khatam University

Khatam University was founded under the name "Khatam Non-Governmental Higher Education Institute" by accepting students in the master's degree in the field of Biology (cell and molecular sciences). After the passage of several years and with major management changes in the structure of the institution, a new chapter of development and expansion of the scope of the institution's activities, including the increase of academic fields, the development of educational programs, the preparation and recruitment of full-time qualified scientific staff, and the expansion of physical facilities took place. In line with these changes, based on the implementation of the leveling plan of non-governmental higher education institutions in 2013 by the Ministry of Science, this institution succeeded in gaining a position among 269 non-profit institutions in the country. Finally, Khatam Institute received the definitive license of the title "University” from the Ministry of Science. With the permission of the university, specialized faculties namely " Faculty of Engineering", " Faculty of Humanities", " Faculty of Management and Financial Science" and " Faculty of Art and Architecture" were established in Khatam. After obtaining permission to accept students in the Ph.D. level of philosophy, the first students of the university's specialized doctoral course began their journey.

Currently, Khatam University accepts students in 58 scientific fields in bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees through the national entrance exam, and benefitting from the scientific-specialized ability of full-time faculty members and part-time professors, this university tries to teach the latest sciences to those who seek knowledge and research.

In the new period of its activity, Khatam University, benefiting from advanced educational facilities and equipment, maintaining and continuously improving educational standards, especially in creating and coordinating experienced groups of professors and complying with relevant regulations, has so far succeeded in providing nearly 3000 quality students. Acceptance of graduates of this university in higher education, recruiting them in scientific and research institutions and executive bodies of the country, developing new businesses, participating in the creation of knowledge-based companies, as well as authoring and translating new books, publishing articles, and publishing numerous articles in prestigious national and international journals and holding seminars on various scientific and research topics are indicators of the high scientific standards of Khatam University.
