Preparation of the Computer Department of Khatam University and Fanap for Joint Cooperation

The Computer Department of Khatam University and Pasargad Arian Communication and Information Technology Company (FNAP) cooperate with each other in various scientific, research, and industrial fields.
According to the reporter of Khatam University’s website, a joint meeting of the dean and members of the computer department of Khatam University with the CEO and a group of managers of Pasargad Arian Information and Communication Technology Company (FNAP) was held before noon on February 19th 2023 with the aim of joint cooperations in various scientific, research, and industrial fields. It was held on Sunday in the office of the vice president of Budget and Planning of this university.
At the beginning of this meeting, Mojtaba Nikravesh, the vice president of Budget and Planning of Khatam University, while welcoming the development of cooperations between Khatam University and FANAP, stressed the necessity to clarify the research priorities of FANAP with the aim of preparing Khatam University students to choose topics for their theses and also introducing professors from FANAP to accept the responsibility of thesis supervisors at this university.
He also considered it necessary to form a working group to advance these goals, and reminded the importance of planning for the joint scientific conference of Khatam University and Fanap, which is scheduled to be held in the summer of next year.
Shahab Javanmardi the CEO of Fanap, announced the readiness of his group to introduce a professional team to form a working group to advance the agreed goals with Khatam University, and emphasized: "According to the plan of the Ministry of Science for the university to benefit more from the industry sector, we are planning to invite 5 university professors to Fanap group to implement research projects. This is definitely a priority for us to benefit the scientific power available at Khatam University."
He not only stressed the need to strengthen the research department in the community under his responsibility and the merits of holding a joint scientific conference with Khatam University in the summer of next year, but also discussed topics such as artificial intelligence and ICT as suitable subjects for the conference. At the same time, he emphasized the need to determine the details of the conference before April 2023.
The CEO of Fanap continued by pointing out that until about 10 years ago, it was the pressure of the technologists which could control the market and determine its direction and further said: "Today the game has changed though and it is the demands of the society that determine the direction of the market in this field."
In this meeting, Ehsan Akhtarkavan, the dean of the computer department at Khatam University, mentioned that this university will provide a physical space of about 300 square meters, where 10 teams of experts will be able to carry out laboratory and research activities at the same time which will lead to registering new ideas. Further to that, he spoke about the problem of financing this sector and requested the cooperation of Fanap in this regard.
He described the scientific capacity of the computer department of Khatam University and its elite students as a suitable potential for carrying out research with Fanap and requested to equip the research center and laboratory of the computer department of the university using the scientific power and knowledge of the experienced staff of Fanap.
Additionally, it was decided to further investigate the matters raised in this meeting by a joint working group consisting of representatives of Khatam University and Fanap. These issues will be pursued until the desired result is achieved for both parties.
After this meeting, the CEO of Fanap attended the gathering held by undergraduate students of Computer Science/Engineering department of Khatam University in the amphitheater of this university. In an intimate atmosphere, he discussed about the students’ concerns in the areas related to Computer Science/Engineering, as well as the future career and job market of this field.
While pointing out the capacities and opportunities of studying in Khatam University, he advised Computer Science/Engineering students (and related fields) to take advantage of this opportunity and focus on searching and exploring various scientific fields and trying to achieve big dreams.
"Give yourself a chance to make mistakes as sometimes failures can teach you lessons much more than success. We are also with you in Fanap Group and we are trying to get better every day. Our goal is to help more efficient computer engineers graduate from Khatam University and enter the job market compared to other scientific centers and universities of the country," Javanmardi said.
