Dr. Majid Ghasemi Reappointed to the National Council of Scientific Associations

According to the Public Relations and Website Office of Khatam University, Dr. Hossein Simaei Saraf, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, has issued an order extending Dr. Majid Ghasemi’s membership on the National Council of Scientific Associations for another two years. Dr. Ghasemi is President of Khatam University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iran Management Association. The order reads:

Pursuant to Article 2 of the Regulations on the Establishment and Duties of the Commission of Scientific Associations, approved at the 262nd session of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, you are hereby reappointed for a two-year term as a member of the Commission of Scientific Associations.

I hope that, through cooperation with the other esteemed members and by drawing on the insights and expertise of specialists, you will succeed in enhancing the quality of the activities of scientific associations and in fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to the Commission. I wish you continued health and ever-greater success from Almighty God.

It is worth noting that Dr. Majid Ghasemi, President of Khatam University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iran Management Association, also serves as Chairman of the National Council of Scientific Associations as the Association’s representative.

Among the responsibilities of the National Council of Scientific Associations are collecting and reviewing proposals from member associations and their respective unions to assist in policymaking in the fields of science, research, and technology development, as well as other related scientific and professional fields; creating an appropriate framework for scientific associations to contribute to establishing the country’s scientific authority and standing; cooperating in establishing and facilitating connections between scientific associations and educational, research, industrial, and executive institutions at the national and international levels; cooperating to provide member associations with access to new scientific developments and facilitating the exchange of information and experience among associations in order to expand their activities and promote consistency in their practices; organizing, or cooperating in organizing, scientific gatherings at the national, regional, and international levels; recognizing and honoring national and international scientific talents and distinguished figures on special occasions and presenting awards to them; working to secure the funding, financial resources, and facilities required by the Council; taking action and following up on efforts to obtain welfare support, facilities, and academic benefits for associations; establishing, in accordance with applicable regulations, a body for resolving disputes among Iran’s scientific associations and unions; fostering healthy and constructive competition and promoting overall development among scientific associations; and working to protect the professional standing of associations’ scientific and specialized services before the country’s institutions and authorities.
