Published: Wednesday, September 16, 2026

A joint meeting between officials of Iran Management Association, Khatam University, and directors of the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education was held at Khatam University to explore areas for joint cooperation and strengthen bilateral interactions.

According to the Public Relations and Website Office of Khatam University, the joint meeting of officials from Iran Management Association and Khatam University with directors from the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education—aimed at exploring areas of joint cooperation and enhancing bilateral interactions—was held on Tuesday, September 15, in the presence of the university vice presidents, the Secretary-General of Iran Management Association, and representatives from the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education at the Imam Reza Conference Hall of Khatam University.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Azar Saemian, Secretary-General of Iran Management Association, introduced the association and its activities, including organizing various scientific conferences such as the National Organizational Culture Conference, the National Digital Transformation Conferences, the National Knowledge Management Conferences, and the Corporate Social Responsibility Award in Management. While explaining the objectives of each of these events, she highlighted their continuity even during the recent two wars and the participation of distinguished academic figures in the relevant fields as their prominent features.

Following this, Dr. Bahaeddin Shariat, Vice President for Academic and Postgraduate Affairs at Khatam University, referred to the founding history and evolution of Khatam University over the past decade. Presenting a brief introduction to its current status regarding the number of faculty members, student enrollments across various degree levels, and relevant faculties, he addressed the high-level university officials’ commitment to entering more actively into health-related scientific domains and spoke about a 400-bed hospital construction project in Qom as one of the key initiatives in this area.

Additionally, Eng. Ali Azami, Deputy Head of the Center for Management Development and Administrative Transformation and Head of the Knowledge Management Center at the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, noted the broad scope of the ministry’s activities and the significant size of healthcare personnel across the country. He stated that the objective of the Ministry of Health delegation’s presence at Khatam University was to receive academic and knowledge support to implement policies aimed at culture building, disciplinary and incentive policies, as well as staff training in areas such as knowledge management.

Stating that “to achieve productivity, we are eager to see and hear about Khatam University’s experiences and successes in these fields,” he added: “The second objective for which we came to Khatam University is the issue of digital transformation in healthcare, and we seek to carry out joint initiatives in this field with the support of Iran Management Association.”

Dr. Sharifi, Head of the Knowledge Management and Experience Documentation Group at the Ministry of Health, also noted that the ministry has taken a serious approach toward knowledge management systems since 2017, stating: “Over the past year, we have trained approximately 50,000 person-hours in the field of knowledge management, representing individuals who have successfully completed the relevant courses. We have currently deployed more than 4,400 assessors across 74 universities in the country to evaluate the institutionalization of these training programs.”

Following this, Dr. Payam Haghighi Boroujeni, Lead Assessor and Knowledge Management Instructor from Iran Management Association, Ph.D. graduate in Systems Management, and guest lecturer at the University of Tehran, discussed the training of specialized assessors through various editions of the KM4D (Knowledge Management for Development) Award held by Iran Management Association, assessing it as an effective roadmap for enhancing knowledge management across any organization.

Dr. Hessam Zand Hesami, Member of the Board of Directors of Iran Management Association, also shared insights on the importance of knowledge management, as well as current trends and discussions in this domain.

Furthermore, Dr. Morteza Alahdad, Vice President for International Affairs at Khatam University, referred to the positive developments in knowledge management achieved within the Ministry of Health in recent years, which have led to public satisfaction, while emphasizing the need to sustain this trajectory and address existing shortcomings in the field.

Dr. Arash Ghamari, Assessor and Knowledge Management Instructor from Iran Management Association, suggested that to gain closer familiarity with scientific procedures in knowledge management, arrangements should be made for Ministry of Health knowledge management practitioners to participate in Iran Management Association’s Knowledge Management Award and attend specialized training courses hosted at Khatam University.

Following the session, the delegation of Ministry of Health directors, accompanied by vice presidents and directors from Khatam University, visited the university’s Industry 4.0 Living Lab and Smart Digital Reality Center.
