Research Contract Concluded Between Khatam University and Marun Petrochemical Company

With the aim of leveraging the university’s scientific capacities to address industrial needs, a research contract titled “Investigating the Impact of Work-Family Conflict on Work Focus and Occupational Safety of Marun Petrochemical Company Employees” was signed between Khatam University and the company.
According to the Public Relations and Website Office of Khatam University, addressing human and psychological factors that influence employee performance has become one of the most critical focal points in organizational and industrial studies today. In this context, conflict between professional and family responsibilities represents a key factor capable of affecting employees’ work concentration, performance quality, and even occupational safety.
Accordingly, and with the objective of utilizing the university’s academic capabilities to meet the demands of industry, a research contract entitled “Investigating the Impact of Work-Family Conflict on Work Focus and Occupational Safety of Marun Petrochemical Company Employees” was executed between Khatam University and Marun Petrochemical Company.
The project will be led by Dr. Mandana Niknam, faculty member and Head of the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Khatam University. Adopting an applied approach, this study examines the various dimensions of work-family conflict among employees of Marun Petrochemical Company and aims to analyze its correlation with levels of workplace concentration and occupational safety indicators.
The findings of this project, in addition to providing a deeper understanding of the human factors affecting employee performance, can pave the way for designing evidence-based, actionable strategies to enhance productivity, mental health, and workforce safety in industrial environments.
This contract was developed under the direction of the University’s Research Affairs Department and within the framework of Khatam University’s policies on advancing problem-oriented research and expanding impactful collaborations with industry, leading to this joint partnership between the university and Marun Petrochemical Company.
The Research Affairs Department of Khatam University considers fostering academic-industrial engagement and transforming knowledge into practical solutions for organizational challenges to be among its core strategic priorities. It regards this collaboration as a valuable step forward in strengthening university-industry ties and generating applied knowledge in human capital and organizational safety.
