Signing of a Strategic Research Contract between Khatam University and the Institute for Science Policy Research

In line with Khatam University’s efforts to play an effective role in addressing the country’s strategic challenges, a research contract entitled “A Roadmap for Economic Policymaking in the Steel Industry Using the Financial and Political Planning (FPP) Model” has been signed between the Institute for Science Policy Research and Khatam University.

 

According to the Public Relations and Website Office of Khatam University,, and in line with Khatam University’s efforts to play an effective role in addressing the country’s strategic challenges, a research contract entitled “A Roadmap for Economic Policymaking in the Steel Industry Using the Financial and Political Planning (FPP) Model” has been signed between the Institute for Science Policy Research and Khatam University, under the leadership of the Research Affairs Management Office and as part of the university’s continued development of problem-oriented research activities. 

Dr. Sholeh Bagheri-Pormehr, a faculty member and Head of the Department of Economics at Khatam University, is responsible for the scientific leadership of this project. The research project will draw on Khatam University's academic capabilities to develop analytical tools and provide data-driven solutions for economic policymaking in the country’s steel industry. The steel industry, as one of the main pillars of the country’s industrial development, has a significant share in production, employment, exports, and economic growth. Therefore, decision-making and policymaking in this sector require the use of advanced analytical models and reliable data. This project seeks to develop a coherent scientific framework that will provide a basis for evaluating various policy scenarios and identifying their economic consequences for the steel industry.

This research contract, concluded in cooperation with Khatam University’s Research Affairs Management Office, demonstrates the confidence of the country’s policy research institutions in the academic capabilities of Khatam University and its faculty members to conduct applied, impactful research. Emphasizing the development of problem-oriented research and constructive engagement with the country’s scientific and executive institutions, the Khatam University Research Affairs Management Office considers this collaboration a valuable step toward generating applied knowledge and helping improve the quality of economic policymaking in the country. It also hopes that the results of this project, while advancing the boundaries of knowledge in the fields of industrial economics and economic policymaking, will contribute to improving the policy formulation and decision-making processes in the country’s steel industry and increasing the effectiveness of public policies in this area.
