Teacher's Day Commemoration Ceremony Was Held at Khatam University

On the 1st of May, 2024, the anniversary of Morteza Motahari and the Teacher's Day commemoration ceremony was held at Khatam University.
According to the public relations and website of Khatam University, the Teacher's Day commemoration ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 1st, in the presence of Dr. Majid Ghasemi, the president of Khatam University, vice-presidents, managers, and members of scientific departments of this university.
In his speech at this ceremony, Dr. Ghasemi praised the position of teachers and instructors and the fact that God has given them the ability to nurture a human being and said:” A human being is only a body at birth, and what elevates him is the process of being educated. Education is vital, and therefore, whatever is done by teachers in this regard is valuable.”
Speaking to the directors and members of scientific groups of Khatam University, while wishing them more and more success, Ghasemi expressed his hope that the professors and faculty members of Khatam University will be able to become more successful in the way of educating and training students.
The president of Khatam University continued to narrate memories of his studies and teaching as a teacher in different schools in Iran and especially paid tribute to the position of one of his teachers who was the son of Adib al-Mamalek.
Dr. Ghasemi further pointed out the success and achievements of Khatam University in recent years and by comparing the recent 11-year record of Stanford University and Khatam University, he listed the achievements of Khatam University in this period as far more than Stanford University and referred to the slogan of his university; "Passing Stanford". He mentioned that it is possible to achieve more success which requires the efforts of active teachers and professors at Khatam University.
He also presented a brief report on the process of executive and construction activities for the construction and completion of the Khatam University campus hoping that this complex would be ready by 2026 and become a leading university, if not in the world, at least in the Middle East.
The CEO of Pasargad Bank also expressed some points about the importance of education and acquiring modern knowledge in this bank and said: “Pasargad Bank is a fast-learning scientific institution, which means that human capital must quickly learn modern knowledge, otherwise it will fall behind.”
In the celebration of Teacher's Day, Pasargad Bank's human capital development manager, Mr. Momeni also said that educational programs in this bank were given serious attention even before its establishment in the ideas of its founders. This goal was achieved by benefitting the services of Iran Banking Higher Education Institute.
He further added: "Today, we have provided the necessary educational environment and software for our staff to take internal courses, and we are proud to announce that Pasargad Bank is the first private bank in the country that was able to achieve ISO 10015 international standards in the field of banking education."
Momeni also appreciated the support of the CEO and members of the board of directors of Pasargad Bank for the development of education in this complex, especially by using the scientific power available in Khatam University, and considered it a source of encouragement for the staff of Pasargad Bank's education department.
The human capital development manager of Pasargad Bank went on to present a report on the performance of the training department in this bank and said: “In 2023, 406 training courses were held for 10,200 employees, and the results show that the effectiveness of training programs is 87%. , per capita/training 30 hours for each person, the level of training inclusion of 86% of the staff, the rate of realization of the goals of holding the courses was 99.8%, the satisfaction rate of the staff with the courses was 88% and the amount of content production in the courses was 78 hours.
Besides, Seyyed Hossein Razavi Haji Agha, the Research Director of Khatam University, in a speech, while emphasizing the impact of scientific promotion of universities on the growth of the GDP index of countries, announced Iran's rank of 17th in science production in the world and emphasized the need for more efforts by researchers to achieve better positions in the country.
According to the director of research of Khatam University, this university currently has 4 faculties and 17 educational groups and accepts students in more than 63 academic fields and currently has 293 undergraduate students, 1174 master's students, and 49 doctoral students. Khatam University has about 3000 graduates, 80% of whom are employed.
Razavi further added: “Since 2021, 7 members of the faculty of Khatam University have been promoted to the rank of assistant professors, and the process of producing science in this university shows a favorable trend, which can be seen from the number of references to the articles of university professors.”
In this ceremony, Abedifar, an assistant professor in the Department of Financial Management of Khatam University, in his remarks about improving the quality of research through the modification of the procedure for evaluating scientific productions, said: “In general, in our country, the procedure governing the production of science has caused more low-quality articles to be published, which can be obtained from the classification of scientific publications.”
He also added: “The problem that exists is that reforming the evaluation procedure of the Ministry of Science is time-consuming and the solution is to rank the publications in the universities themselves. It can lead to better results at the end.”
Soheila Rezaei, one of the instructors of Pasargad Bank's training department and the head of the bank's Zartosht branch, also had a speech and said: "Today, Pasargad's staff are teaching their colleagues and apart from morals and upbringing, they are also expanding Pasargad's culture. I wholeheartedly congratulate this success to Pasargad Bank’s staff.”
In this ceremony, Abdolrahim Naveh Ebrahim, the professor of the Psychology Department of Khatam University, in a speech, while honoring the memory of Ayatollah Morteza Motahari, whose martyrdom day is Teacher's Day, gave some tips on how to motivate students to learn better.
The Teacher's Day commemoration ceremony at Khatam University ended with the recognition of the "educational leaders" of the university and the presentation of certificates of appreciation to 6 faculty members of this university as follows: Dr. Babak Majidi (Department of Computer Engineering), Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Haj-Malek (Department of English Language) ), Dr. Farzaneh Yousefi Asl (Accounting Department), Dr. Leila Shiva (TIAS), Dr. Marzieh Hashemi (Department of Psychology) and Dr. Robab Kalantari (Financial Management).
