Programming Contests with Financial Data to Be Held at Khatam University

According to the public relations and website of Khatam University, today, algorithmic trading, statistical arbitrage opportunities or quantum funds and trading robots in financial markets are good financial opportunities for engineers who are familiar with programming skills. Notably, working in such an area requires the acquisition of skills in two branches: familiarity with financial knowledge and acquisition of analytical and programming skills.

The first course of " Programming Contests with Financial Data” focused on option contracts (designed for the elites and experts of universities, the capital market and industry) seeks to create an environment where the participants of the competition can gain practical experience of working with such data and learn about the challenges and skills used in this field.

The goals of this contest are:

• Specialized training and skill acquisition;

• The challenges of programming with the purpose of transactions in the capital market;

• Communication with professionals and experts in the market;

• Familiarization and training of option contracts and related data structure;

• Supporting the top business plans and ideas of the participants.

During this event, the professionals who have experience in algorithmic trading will accompany the participants in the competition, and they will have the opportunity to hang out and talk with these people. Further to that, they can expand their communication network in this area. In fact, the participants in this event will try to win the contest’s prizes while acquiring the necessary skills.

How to register in the first course of "Programming Contests with Financial Data”:

• Registration in this event is done as a team, and each team includes a group leader and three other people as team members. After registration, the necessary information to complete other steps will be announced to the candidates participating in the contest through the contest secretariat.

• During the three days of the contest, on each day, basic training on the concepts of the financial industry and extracting data related to these concepts in the Iranian capital market will be taught, and after that, a question will be asked and each team will have until the end of that day. To write the related codes and do the testing.

• After registration, additional information will be sent to applicants via e-mail and virtual networks.

• Registration in the contests is free and the deadline for registration is February 4^th, 2024.

• The contest will take place on February 27, 28 and 29, 2024 (Tuesday to Thursday) at Khatam University (Imam Reza Hall).

The prizes for this contest are as follows:

• Top team: 60 million Tomans cash prize

• Second team: 40 million tomans prize

• Third team: 30 million tomans prize
