Introduction
The English Language Department at Khatam University currently offers Master’s Programs in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Translation Studies, and English Literature. Currently, four full-time faculty members and a number of visiting scholars from prominent national universities are teaching and conducting research at this department. Also, more than 100 students in three majors are studying or carrying out thesis projects in this department.
Given the rapid growth in international communication demands, individuals’ vocational needs, including finding employment or promoting their occupational status, and motivation for academic and professional progress on an international level, English majors generally attract students from a variety of educational backgrounds. To address these needs, Khatam English Language Department, relying on its distinguished professors, prominent educational facilities, and academic atmosphere, annually admits a significant number of applicants.
History

In 2013, when the university resumed its activities with a new approach after a brief pause, English Language Department also started afresh. Two other MA programs, Translation Studies and English Literature, were introduced in the department in 2015.
